Founded in 1997, Ares aims at pursuing opportunities in leveraged loans and high yield bonds. In 2002, Ares became an independent firm. Ares is made up of three different platforms: (1) Capital Markets Group, (2) Private Equity Group (ACOF), and 3) Private Debt Group. As of 2008 Ares has $27 billion committed capital under management. Key Contacts - Bennett Rosenthal (Chairman of Board, Director): Mr. Rosenthal joined Ares in 1998 and is a founding member of Ares Partners and a Senior Partner in Ares Private Equity Group. Prior to joining Ares, Mr. Rosenthal was Managing Director in the Global Leveraged Finance Group at Merrill Lynch.
