Key Contacts - Jim Dreyfous (Partner): Mr. Dreyfous co-founded and has been a General Partner of UV Partners since 1986. He has worked with every one of UV Partners' portfolio companies. Mr. Dreyfous' earlier career experience was focused in commercial banking, private investments, and small business management. He was an officer of Citicorp and Bankers Trust, and was a principal for a privately held oil and gas production and distribution company. Jim currently serves on the board of a number of portfolio companies and philanthropic boards. He is active in the civic community. He holds a BA in Economics from Middlebury College - Heidi Huntsman (Partner): Ms. Huntsman joined UV Partners in February 2004.. Before joining UV Partners, Ms. Huntsman was Director of Research at Tenex Greenhouse Ventures, a venture capital fund. Prior to working at Tenex Greenhouse, Ms. Huntsman worked in investment banking as an associate equity analyst in the medical device sector at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities. She also managed marketing, business development and sales operations for a San Francisco based medical supply start-up, MedChannel. Ms. Huntsman has ten years of experience in academic research, and holds a M.S. in Human Molecular Biology and Genetics, and a B.S. in Physiological Psychology from the University of Utah. - Carl Ledbetter (Partner): Dr. Ledbetter joined UV Partners as an Information Technology partner. Prior to joining UV Partners, Dr. Ledbetter was Senior Vice President, Engineering/Research and Development at Novell, Inc. and was responsible for Novell's Venture Fund. Earlier in his career Dr. Ledbetter was President of AT&T's Consumer Products Division, CEO of ETA Systems, CDC's supercomputer subsidiary, corporate vice president and General Manager of Sun Microsystems' PC Networking division, Director of IBM's Kingston Laboratory, and a dean and professor of mathematics at Sonoma State University and Wellesley College. Carl earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from Clark University, his master's degree in mathematics from Brandeis University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Redlands. - Blake Modersitzki (Partner): Mr. Modersitzki joined UV Partners in 2002. Prior to joining UV Partners he was Managing Director of Novell Ventures and Vice President Strategic Business Development. He was responsible for managing Novell's venture fund as well as Novell's Global Strategic Business development group. He has also held key positions at Novell, a leading networking infrastructure company, in corporate development, product management, and sales and marketing. Mr. Modersitzki has over 15 years of high tech operational experience. He began his business career with WordPerfect Inc. He holds a BS in Economics from Brigham Young University. - Dr. Allan Wolfe (Partner): Dr. Wolfe has been a General Partner of UV Partners since 1989. In 1983 he co-founded Hambrecht & Quist's Life Science Ventures. Earlier, Dr. Wolfe was an operating manager in startup and mature medical companies, including American Hospital Supply Corporation's principal manufacturing division where his responsibilities encompassed strategic and operating planning, research and development, manufacturing, engineering, and international marketing. Dr. Wolfe holds a BA in American Civilization from Cornell University and a Doctor of Medicine from the New York University School of Medicine. His post graduate training included service as an intern, resident and Chief Resident in medicine and a research fellowship in cardiology and rheumatic diseases. Dr. Wolfe is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern California Biomedical Council. - Chirs Cooper (Partner): Chris Cooper joined UV Partners in 2007 and has over seventeen years of operational experience in the software industry and has held key positions in sales management, field marketing, business development, and engineering. Most recently he was Director of Partner Engineering and Developer Services at Novell, Inc. Mr. Cooper also served as General Manager of Novell's Strategic Alliances. Mr. Cooper served as both a business and technical adviser for Novell Ventures and managed relationships between the fund's portfolio companies and industry leaders. He continues to serve on Novell's OSTC Advisory Board. Prior to joining Novell, Mr. Cooper served as East Coast Regional Sales Director for the WordPerfect Corporation.
